Music

The Department leads a very active life within Spratton Hall. Mrs Miller the Head of Department teaches Music from the Reception Classes through to Year 5 at present. Miss Morrell teaches pupils in Years 6 to 8. A wide range of activities are available ranging from Jazz Groups to String Orchestras. Over 260 pupils participate in individual music lessons throughout the course of the week.

We have 5 School Choirs catering from Years 2 to 8 who perform in assemblies, concerts, competitions and Church Services.

The department has 14 visiting peripatetic members of staff, who offer a wide range of instrumental lessons, together with singing lessons and music theory.

Throughout the year, approximately 180 Associated Board Music Examinations are taken, ranging from grade 1 to grade 6 with many distinctions and merits being awarded.

Music is the art which is most nigh to tears and memory.
