Year 8
STUDY VISIT TO THE BATTLE OF BOSWORTH
On Tuesday 23rd September, my year went on a Study Visit to Bosworth Battlefield Centre near Market Bosworth and Nuneaton. We were accompanied by Mr Roberts, Mrs Coverdale and Miss Morris.
We arrived there at about ten o’clock and were split into groups. Our group went into the exhibition first. We got to try on armour and there were lots of interactive things to do including watching a ten minute documentary about the battle.
Next, we went out into the medieval village where there was a man dressed in medieval battle wear. He told us about different bits of weaponry and even showed us a few moves using wooden spears.
After we had our lunch, we went on a walk with a tour guide called Eddie who talked about the formation of the battle. He even showed us a well where King Richard himself was supposed to have drunk out of during the battle.
It was a great day out and I learned a lot about the Battle of Bosworth
