Year 2

The Year 2 classrooms are located on the first floor of the main Pre-Prep building. They are large, bright and airy with plenty of room for exciting home corners to allow the children to develop their imaginations further.

Children are set for Numeracy and Literacy and move freely and confidently between the teaching areas, sharing the well-resourced library and the computer area to help with their research and the completion of independent work.
 
Year 2 study a termly cross-curricular topic, each having a History, Geography or Science emphasis and relevant educational visits to enhance their learning and enjoyment. Topics include Castles, the Polar Regions, Space and Healthy Living. Cultural enrichment is further provided by theatre visits and outside speakers.
 
The children enjoy a varied curriculum and benefit from the specialist Prep School teachers in French, Drama, Music, Art and Games which helps their smooth transition into Year 3.
 
After-school clubs are offered and activities such as Art & Craft, Board Games, Country Dancing and Choir are available.
