Match Reports
28.04.10 v Kimbolton (H) - Lost by 29 runs
A closer game than the score suggests. We lost due to a couple of dropped catches, a lack of match bowling which cost us too many extras and not hitting the ball hard enough!! Special mention to A.Banfield and A.Pugh for good bowling figures. With a bit more batting practice we will win a few games this season. C Bradnam
05.05.10 v Bilton Grange (A) - Won by 32 runs
A much improved performance. The bowling was a lot tighter and the batting much more poweful. Special mention to; A.Banfield who bowled 2 maidens and took a wickt in his third over as well as hitting 2 fours, A.Bowles who took 2 for 3 from his 3 overs, and P.Holmes for hitting his first ever 4. Well done lads. C.Bradnam
12.05.10 v Akeley Wood (H) - Won by 70 runs.
A very strong bowling performance taking many wickets left us leaving just 11 runs to win. Everyone in the team contributed well to an excellent batting performance posting 81 runs. A psecial mention for A.Banfield who took a Hatrick in his second over. An all round good effort. C.Bradnam
15.05.10 v Winchester House (A) - Lost by 31 runs.
A really good effort by the team and a game we could of won on another day. We strayed too much onto legside and conceded too many easy boundaries because of it. We also lost our confidence when striking the ball hard and so struggled to keep up with the run rate. Well bowled to C.Jennings (5 runs for 1 wicket of 4 overs) and A.Banfield (1 wicket for 6 runs off 4 overs). Special mention to E.sanchez who batted for 15 overs. C.Bradnam
19.05.10 v Bedford Prep (A) - Lost by 61 runs.
We were totally out played. The Bedford team bowled very well preventin us scoring many runs and giving us very few extras. We did not bowl badly but the Bedford team were big hitters and scored lots of boundaries. I think we learnt a lot about going at the ball hard which we can hopefully translate into our own batting! Special mention to C.Jennings for his 14 not out. C.Bradnam
26.05.10 v Witham Hall (A) - Won by 10 runs.
A very evenly balanced match with both teams looking like they were going to win. We batted well posting a good total to defen with the ball. We then bowled good line and length getting wickets at crucial times. A really good all round performance. Well batted R.Peck (20 runs off 15 balls) and E.O'Connell (18 runs off 11 balls). C.Bradnam
