Chateau du Broutel

In March 2009, Year 7 went to 'Le Chateau du Broutel' in 'Picardie'.  During the week the pupils discovered the historical village of 'Rue', where they did a treasure hunt. They also went to Amiens where they visited the beautiful and largest cathedral in Europe. They also went to the market of Berck. In the afternoon, they went to 'La Coupole' which is Hitler’s observatory during World War II. On Tuesday, they went to Paris. They first visited the 'Le Louvre' where they could admire a large collection of paintings, sculptures and prints. Later that day, they went on board a 'Bateau Parisien' for a ride on the River Seine.

To finish with, they went to the top floor of the Eiffel Tower, from which they could see the whole Paris. On the last day, Year 7 were taken to 'Cite Europe' in Calais. There, they went on a French shopping experience. All the pupils had to work on a journal during their visit which had to be written mostly in French. They all tried to eat some 'ESCARGOTS' and they even learned how to make French mayonnaise.
