Spratton Hall Athletics Meeting (20.5.10)
This was our first athletics fixture of the season. Both Maidwell and Wellinb
orough competed against the boys and Wellingborough the girls. Unfortunately Bedford High and Bedford Prep were unable to make it at the last minute. It was an excellent evening of athletics and many closely contested competitions took part. Over 100 Year 4-8 pupils took part from Spratton alone. It proved to be superb competition in preparation for the regional events coming up after half term. Both the girls and boys teams came out on top. The boys result was very close indeed. Maidwell had been 2 points ahead up until the last few events, the 4X100m relays. Spratton boys knew what they needed to do. Their hard work on the Monday and Tuesday evenings paid off as take overs were slick enabling them to take advantage with a two point win. Congratulations to all athletes who made the event so exciting to all of us who were spectating.
