Semi-Final:
V Danes Hill            Won  17 - 7

FINAL:
V The Oratory          Won  14 - 12

This has to go down as one of my best memories of true determination and heart. Having lost to the Oratory in our pool game and to get our heads together and focus on a tough runners up route. The boys were totally committed in giving it their best shot. Playing 3 extremely hard games against the top big prep schools in the country, the Colts A produced absolutely superb rugby to finish the tournament as winners beating the same oratory team in the last play of the game in the final. This shows what true mental toughness and believing in yourself and your teammates can achieve. Well done boys, You all did your school proud! - Mr Barnard

Colts A Warwick 7's  ( 11 March 2009 )

This tourament saw 24 schools take part in which their were 4 pools of 6, in order to qualify for the Warwick cup Spratton had to win their pool. The runners-up of each pool would play in the Warwick shield, 3rd/4th place would play in Plate and 5th/6th places in each pool would play in the Bowl cup.

POOL A
v King's St Albans            Won 33 - 0

v Warwick 'A'                   Lost   7 - 19
v Prestfelde                     Won 40 - 0
v Bradford Grammar 'A'     Won 28 - 7
As runners-up of pool Spratton qualified for the Shield Cup
Semi-final:
v Bedford Modern               Won  21 - 14
Shield Final:
v Blue Coat                       Won  42 - 5

Spratton finished the tournament on a high wining the Shield Trophy and effectively finishing 5th out of 24 schools competing on the day.  The boys learned some valuable lessons at Warwick.  I thought the team was too complacent in this tournament playing brilliantly for a half then dropping their standards for another half.  This is something we need to fix before the Northampton Grammar 7's and I am confident that Spratton Colts A will rise to the challenge with 'sheer' determination.  Come on boys, your last rugby as a Colts player!!  Good Luck! - Mr Barnard

Colts A Tournament Winners
What a way to finish off a fine year of rugby. The Colts were deservedly winners of this 7's playing some superb rugby as the tournament progressed. The boys keeping the ball alive and line defence was excellent throughout. Keeping out of contact and moving the ball continuously produced over-laps and gaps for our quick boys to target and finished off great pieces of play from fantastic team work.

The Colts have now won 6 trophies this year, 5 of them for being the Winners! Well done to all the boys who contributed and played a part in such a fantastic team.
